This edition of the Census and Housing Population will be largely executed with the aid of Technology becoming the 2nd Digital Census in West Africa after Ghana conducted hers in 2019.
Use of Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) devices for electronic data capture and Geographic Positioning Systems (GPS) for recording coordinates of structures, Will be replacing the manual computation of data.
Real-time transmission of data from field enumerators, via their devices, will effectively make the process less cumbersome and produce fast and reliable data.
As Technology advances, various countries have adopted technologies to suit their peculiar needs and the NPC has taken the bull by its horn in Nigeria to carry out its first digital Population and Housing Census.
