Traditional Ruler of Ukwulu Community in Dunukofia Local Government Area, Anambra State, Igwe Peter Uyanwa, has endorsed the second term bid of the Anambra state Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
Uyanwa who made the pronouncement during an event organized in his palace at Ukwulu Community over the weekend, called on the people of the state to support the ruling government in state, pointing out that Governor Soludo had done extremely well in the areas of security and infrastructural development of the state within the past two years and some months in office.
Describing Soludo’s healthcare and education policies as unequal in the country, the Monarch said that supporting the Governor’s second term bid by Ndi-Anambra would afford him the opportunity to consolidate on his development projects scattered all over the state.
The royal father who observed that the crisis between Fulani herdsmen and farmers in the state had became a thing of the past in the state, maintained that farmers in Anambra state can now go to their farms freely, especially the female farmers without any fear of being raped or molested by the Fulani herders in the state.
He called on other communities in the area to copy from the recently introduced operation know your tenants or neighbours of the Community with a view to complementing the efforts of the Governor in the fight against insecurity and other social vices in the state.
Igwe Uyanwa, a one-time Chairman, Traditional Rulers Council, Anambra Central, stated that Governor Soludo’s government had succeeded in transforming the state more better than he met it through his unparalleled roads infrastructure in the state, especially in the unreached communities of the state.
He added that the Governor’s track records in the Central Bank of Nigeria as the Governor of the apex bank were still speaking volumes of him in Anambra state and Nigeria at large, describing the Governor Soludo’s vintage projects in the state as sure ticks for his landslide victory in the 2025 gubernatorial election in the state.
While appealing to Ndi-Anambra to shun any acts capable of igniting unnecessary tension in the September 28 local government elections in the state, Igwe Uyanwa noted that with the financial and administrative autonomy granted to the local government councils in the country by the Supreme Court’s judgement, that the local government elections, if conduct as stipulated in Anambra state would no doubt engender rapid grassroots development in the state.
The royal father, who pointed out that Governor Soludo needs the local government Chairmen and councilors that would uphold his unwavering development projects in the state at the grassroots, asked eligible voters in the state to vote for all APGA candidates at the polls during the local government elections.
He, however, warned youths who were destroying their lives with the consumption of methamphetamine and other hard drugs in the state to rethink and work towards engaging themselves in meaningful ventures that could make their lives better.
