A 16-year-old boy, the only male child of his family, in Umuowelle Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, tragically lost his life to a snake bite while attempting to catch a black cobra.

The young snake catcher’s daring pursuit, which had been his means of supporting his family, ultimately proved to be his undoing.

According to villagers, the boy had been catching snakes with his bare hands for some time, earning around N20,000 per snake.
