A Chieftain of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra state, Comrade Ndubuisi Omile has expressed worry over lingering crisis in the party despite series of reconciliatory meetings held in the state.
He identified two of the party leaders, Sen Ben Ndi Obi and Chief Chris Uba at the center of the crisis, calling on national leadership of the party to wade in.
Speaking to reporters in Awka, Omile, former President National Union of Anambra State Students, said the national should work towards reconciling both leaders to give the party right candidate to pilot the affairs of the party in the state.

He said, “I’m of the opinion that all the reconciliatory meetings being called should be suspended, while the national should just work towards Ndi Obi and Chris Uba to give us the right candidate that will pilot the affairs of the party in the state.
“Our national leader should call Obi and Uba to a round table discussion because every other member work under these two persons. That is the reality no one will tell you. If they come together they have all it takes to make the party move forward,” he said.
Omile, former PDP protocol officer (Southeast zone) however regretted allegations leveled against Uba targeted at sacking him from the party, but maintained that the party leader who he described as strong politician remained unruffled.
“Chris Uba is a very strong politician in Anambra state. What I understood is that there is a very high level of disloyalty in politics. You can’t survive politics without being loyal to somebody. Someone has to carry you along.
“However I can tell you that in Anambra state, a lot of people want to push Chris Uba away. They have accused him of so many things because they felt he is a big masquerade.
“There are lots of blackmails against him in media targeted at making him loose focus. They want to push him away but the man keeps on fighting because he needs to be relevant in politics and to make sure things work out.
“If he is given a chance in Anambra to deliver, I believe he will perform well and as I said before, it is only Chief Ndi Obi and Chris Uba that can harmonize the party in the state.
“Ndi Obi is now a patron to all but when you talk of political leader, someone who has what it takes to fight all the political parties in Anambra state, we need somebody like Chris Uba. He is sincere about PDP, he loves the party and thinks about it.
“But the problem is that most of these people coming to claim positions or trying to push him away are doing so, not because they have the capacity to deliver but they are only trying to destabilize the party.
“I want to tell you now that there is no PDP today, tomorrow and next without Chris Uba. Every other person that is saying whatever he is saying is just a way to push him away in order to balance and start collecting money from people.
“A lot of people have been coming to woo him into their party but he refused and made them to understand that it is PDP for life. Even the bible said the house divided against itself will not stand. So we need unity so nobody be left out,” he added.
