Former Governor of Anambra State and immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on what he described as a well-deserved victory in the just-concluded Anambra governorship election.
Ngige commended Soludo’s first term, describing it as “excellent in the prudent management and judicious use of Anambra’s fiscal resources.”
He noted that the governor demonstrated uncommon financial discipline by tailoring the state’s expenditure to its actual revenue capacity.
“I wish to heartily congratulate Governor Charles Soludo on his well-deserved re-election as Governor of Anambra State. His victory is a clear testimony to his good governance, transparency, and sound fiscal management of the state’s resources,” Ngige stated.
Drawing parallels between his own tenure and Soludo’s, Ngige recalled that his administration also prioritized financial prudence and debt clearance without resorting to excessive borrowing.
“When I served as Governor, I ensured that Anambra lived within its means, paid off inherited debts, and delivered impactful projects without borrowing. Governor Soludo has followed that same path, paying off liabilities while embarking on landmark infrastructural projects across the state,” he added.
Ngige praised Soludo for sustaining developmental momentum through major projects both completed and ongoing, emphasizing that the governor’s leadership style reflects a deep understanding of governance and public accountability.
He also offered words of counsel and encouragement for the governor’s second term:
“It is my sincere prayer that Governor Soludo remains steadfast on this progressive path and does not derail, as some leaders tend to do after securing a second term. History, as the ultimate judge of men and governance, will always be kind to those who remain faithful to the service of their people. Soludo’s re-election by the good people of Anambra is proof that history already smiles upon him,” Ngige said.
