Senator Umeh Gives Scholarship To 326 Students in Anambra.

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Victor Umeh, through his Foundation, Victor Umeh Education Foundation (VUMEF), has offered a sum of sixty four million naira scholarship to 326 less privileged students in the state.

 

The scholarship ceremony took place at the Canaan house in Awka, on Tuesday, January 13th, 2026.

The scholarship is for University’s undergraduates and post-graduates students.

Addressing the crowd that attended the ceremony, including Mr Peter Obi, traditional rulers from the 52 communities that constitute the District, President Generals of the communities, parents of the beneficiary students and the Special Adviser to governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on Youth Empowerment, Dr Nelson Umenugha, Umeh said he instituted the scholarship since 1999 to alleviate the problems of members of his Senatorial district, the State, South East region and the country at large.

 

He said that before joining politics, he has promised God that he will institute the scholarship for children who were in need of education but could not afford it.

 

He said his target was those students who cannot pay their fees and that the gesture cut across Religion denomination.

 

He noted that the Foundation has produce many University graduates from various disciplines since inception

 

He also noted that the beneficiaries we selected by the Community’s town Union executive.

 

Umeh, while urging the beneficiaries to make more use of the gesture, vowed to maintain the programme until the beneficiaries earned their degrees.

 

The beneficiaries in their separate interviews praised Umeh and wished him more God’s blessings.
