The Special Adviser to the Anambra State Governor on Community Security, Prince Ken Emeakayi, has convened a crucial meeting with all local vigilante groups and private security company owners operating in the state.

According to a statement released on Wednesday in Awka by the Media and Publicity Secretary of Agunechemba, Comrade Nweke Nweke, the meeting is scheduled to hold on Friday and is aimed at strengthening internal security collaboration across Anambra State.

The statement explained that the initiative seeks to coordinate and integrate the activities of vigilante groups and private security firms within the operational framework of the state’s Homeland Security structure.

Prince Emeakayi emphasized the importance of Section 7 of the Anambra Homeland Security Law, 2025, which mandates that all private security firms operating within the state must register with the State Government after fulfilling the prescribed regulatory requirements.

The release further noted that the state’s internal security regulations require all security companies and armed personnel engaged by employers across Anambra to be officially registered.

This, it stated, is necessary to ensure proper oversight, accountability, and effective management of security operations.

The statement disclosed that :”An official invitation has been extended to all private security firms and their personnel in the state to attend the meeting scheduled for 12 noon on Friday at the ASTUC Hall, located within the Old Government House in Awka. Attendance, according to the statement, is mandatory”.

The statement underscored the significance of the meeting, noting that it would enable the state government to curb the misuse of arms and address the improper deployment of internal security resources.

It further warned that failure to comply with the directive could attract serious consequences.

The meeting is the first of its kind since Prince Emeakayi assumed office as Special Adviser on Community Security to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

The statement added that it would provide an opportunity to share critical security intelligence with stakeholders.

“This meeting is highly significant. It will provide a valuable platform for the exchange of crucial security intelligence with our dedicated crime-fighting leadership under Prince Ken Emeakayi. I am confident that participants will gain deeper insights into prevailing security challenges and strategies for addressing them,” the statement added.
