Two Former Presidents of Nigeria ,Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan as well as Vice President Kashim Shetima graced the swearing-in ceremony of Professor Chukwuma Soludo as Governor of Anambra State for a second term.
The Event which took place at the Alex Ekwueme square witnessed the presence of dignitaries from all walks of life including State Governors and Political Office holders.
Traditional and Religious leaders, Captains of Industry, Political Office holders, Security Chiefs and Community leaders all gathered to witness the event.
National and State Assembly members including the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr Somtochukwu Udeze, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Senator Stella Odua, Chief Chris Uba, Senator Emma Nwachukwu, and a former Secretary General of the Common Wealth , Sir Emeka Anyaoku also attended the event.
The Anglican bishop of Awka, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, the Catholic bishop of Awka , Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor as well as Captains of industry also graced the epoch making occasion.
A former Governor of Anambra State Dr Chris Ngige, in his remarks said governor Soludo performed very well in his first tenure and is expected to even step up the developmental strides as he leads the state for another four years.
The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr Somtochukwu Udeze maintained that the State Legislature will continue to work harmoniously with the Governor for the peace and progress of the State by enacting development driven laws and resolutions.
He noted that Governor Soludo has succeeded in transforming all sectors of the State economy through lofty policies especially his thoughtful free education policy in the State
Also a former majority Leader of the state House of Assembly, Mr Peter Onuorah who hails from Ayamelum Local Government Area Commended the Governor but however called his attention to the need to empower more farmers in other to guarantee food security in the state.
