Dr. Clement Obikee Aguiyi, Esq. is a seasoned legal practitioner, economist, public affairs expert, and development strategist with decades of experience in governance, law, media, and international development.
Born on June 3, 1965, in Enugwu-Agidi, Njikoka LGA, Anambra State, he holds degrees in Education/Economics, Law (LLB, LLM), Corporate Law Practice (MBA), and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA). He is also certified in Campaign & Election Management, Strategic Communication, Public Relations, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Dr. Aguiyi has served as a Consultant to both the House of Representatives and Senate Committees on Environment. He is Managing Partner of Goldbarge & Co. Law Partners and CEO of Afrique Free Press, combining legal practice with media advocacy. A prolific columnist, he has authored over 1,000 published articles on governance and public policy for Saturday Sun and New Telegraph.
Internationally, he has worked with UNODC and UNDP on NGO capacity building and civil society engagement, earning recognition as a UN-PEPOLAC Peace Ambassador for his contributions to conflict resolution and sustainable development.
As former Transition Chairman of Njikoka LGA, he delivered a remarkable environmental turnaround through strategic sanitation initiatives and strict enforcement, making Njikoka one of the cleanest LGAs in Anambra. His administration also constructed over 5,000 market shops, boosting local commerce and economic empowerment.
Dr. Aguiyi is also a community leader and advocate, having chaired the Nigeria Network of NGOs for Drug Demand Reduction and served as President of the Partnership for a Drug-Free Nigeria.
With proven expertise in environmental policy, sanitation, mediation, and stakeholder engagement, Dr. Aguiyi brings both credentials and practical results to the role of Commissioner for Environment in Anambra State.
