It was tears and a somber atmosphere in Umudieleke Umuoru Village in Uga, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State on Sunday, as family, friends, and kinsmen gathered to bury Chibuzor Nzediegwu.
Nzediegwu, popularly known as “Nze”, reportedly died while watching the UEFA Champions League final between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
According to a source, the deceased was a devoted Arsenal FC supporter and a well-known livestock trader at Orie Uga Market.
The source equally confirmed that Nze collapsed at a viewing center in Uga during the second half of the match.
The source said the incident occurred as PSG equalized and intensified pressure on Arsenal.
Following his collapse, he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel tried to revive him and was later pronounced dead.
On Sunday, grief-stricken relatives and members of his kindred in Uga assembled at his family compound for burial rites.
The emotional ceremony was marked by tears and mourning as the community paid its final respects.
The tragic incident has sparked widespread reactions among football fans and residents, many of whom expressed shock and sadness over the circumstances surrounding his sudden death.
