Fidelity Bank Emerges 6th Biggest Commercial Bank in Nigeria by Assets in 2026

Fidelity Bank, one of Nigeria’s fastest growing financial institutions in the country has been named Nigeria’s 6th biggest bank by assets in 2026.

 

 

According to a survey conducted by legit, Nigeria’s banking sector recorded strong growth in Q1 2026, with major commercial banks increasing their total assets despite prevailing macroeconomic pressures. The report noted that gains from foreign exchange revaluation and business expansion contributed to the rise in asset values.

In the list , Access Bank came first while , while UBA trailed at second position . Zenith , first Bank and GTBANK came 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively.

 

Fidelity Bank was on the 6th position ahead of Stanbic, FCMB, Wema and Sterling Bank.

5. Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc — ₦18.75 trillion

6. Fidelity Bank Plc — ₦11.35 trillion

7. Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc — ₦9.70 trillion

8. FCMB Group Plc — ₦7.54 trillion

9. Wema Bank Plc — ₦5.23 trillion

10. Sterling Bank Plc — ₦4.07 trillion
