Anambra State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Arch. Okey Ezeobi has said that one of the things he has taken up as a necessary foundation towards achieving the mandate of the Ministry in the delivery of quality infrastructure in Anambra is to create a conducive environment capable of implementing Governor Soludo’s mandate for the Ministry. Ezeobi, an architect of fine quality and former Director of Anambra State Bureau of Public Procurement, spoke about how he is implementing the Solution Agenda in his Ministry through a deliberate effort to position the Ministry as a model for the excellence it intends to drive. With stable internet access and a conducive work environment, Ezeobi is confident that the Ministry’s “smart office” would have an enormous impact on its output.
For me, Ezeobi said, “We must have a space that reflects a livable and prosperous homeland. Right now, I am restoring the Ministry’s garden and the entire Ministry to its master plan. We are rebuilding our environment because our environment controls how we behave,” Arch Ezeobi said. At the moment, the premises of the Ministry is undergoing a massive makeover to achieve what the Commissioner called “a workable environment” that reflects the enormity of work and excellence Governor Soludo envisions for infrastructure across the state.
Speaking on Work culture and what he intends to do to ensure staffers also reflect the new Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Ezeobi said everything is changing. “I am changing the work culture here. If we must change the situation, we must change the human beings doing the work. We are changing values. We are molding attitudes,” Commissioner for Works, Ezeobi, said.
