Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, has decorated Anambra’s First Lady, Dr. Nonye Soludo, as the Matron of Pregnant Women and Children, for her national campaign on holistic medicine. Performing the investiture on Friday, the Chief Medical Director of COOUTH, Dr. Maureen Umeakuewulu, said that the installation of Mrs. Nonye Soludo as the Matron of Pregnant Women and Children at COOUTH reflects her focused work in holistic medicine driven through her pet project, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo. Accordingly, Dr. Umeakuewulu noted that Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo has become a national brand, creating awareness about the fundamental fact that we are simply what we eat. She also extolled Dr. Nonye Soludo, describing her as a mother with the heart of pregnant women and children.
Speaking at the event, the Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, made a strong case for Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, insisting that “it is important that we follow healthy living activities (because) it will help us,” Dr. Obidike said.
After being installed as the Matron of Pregnant Women and Children of COOUTH, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo encouraged pregnant women to take care of themselves. “What I want to say to pregnant women is to take care of yourselves, knowing that our food is our medicine”. She also commended the CMD, while observing that patients at COOUTH are in safe hands.
During the First Lady’s visit, she toured the hospital and commissioned the Healthy Living Shop and Implant Shop at COOUTH.
