A support group for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection in 2027, Obidient General Worldwide Team, has taken their campaign to Europe, targeting wooing Nigerians living in countries in the continent.
The coordinator of the group, Mr Ikenna Azomchine who was a supporter of Peter Obi in 2023 insisted that his former principal cannot do the jobs Tinubu was doing in Nigeria.
Speaking at the Brussels during an opening ceremony of a 10-day tour of Europe by the group, Azomchine said he and his group were in the Brussels in 2022 to convince European Union to accept Mr Peter Obi as President of Nigeria.
He however noted that they were returning after seeing the good works of President Tinubu to galvanize support for him among Nigerians living in Belgium.
Azomchine who disclosed that he had worked with both men and knew their areas of strength and weakness, insisted that with the level of work Tinubu was putting in, he was sure that Obi would not have done same.
Azomchine said: “In this same Brussels in 2022, we made an appeal to the European Union to accept Peter Obi as our president and we believed that he had what it took to be president and get Nigeria out of the mess that it was.
“I’m here’s on a 10-day tour and inauguration of Obidient General Worldwide Team in Europe. We are here this time to campaign for President Bola Tinubu.
“We are making a u-turn to support Tinubu because of the competence, credibility and all what we have seen him do.
“You are not going to tell me what the president is doing in Nigeria because I have been in Nigeria and I have seen them with my eyes.
“Let me tell you that Nigerian universities no longer go on strike, the students get NELFunds, the president pays student’s school fees, the highest amount of allocation are being received today by our governors. The president is doing well, he is awarding contracts.
“He has just awarded the Jos-Akwanga road, which has been dilapidated for more than 30 years, he has also awarded a link road from Maiduguri to Bauchi, he has completed Makurdi – Enugu road which is over 90 percent completed and so on and so forth.
“What I studied about President Bola Tinubu will shock you, and the things he is doing will shock you even more. I can tell you that a Peter Obi cannot do it. I know the man I follow and don’t forget that I have followed Peter Obi and I know the difference between both men,” he stated.
