The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), in Anambra State has inaugurated its Peter Obi/Kwankwaso Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 elections.
The inauguration ceremony took place at King David hotel in Awka, on Wednesday, November 4th, 2026.
Speaking shortly after the inauguration, the Anambra State NDC Chairman, Rt Hon. Ikem Uzoezie, said the council is expected to coordinate and manage the day-to-day activities of the party’s campaign ahead of the 2027 general election in the state.
He said the inauguration is part of the party’s preparations for the forthcoming elections.
According to the Chairman, the Inauguration is a commencement to an aggressive house -house mobilization for a total victory for our Presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi and other candidates contesting the election in Anambra State and beyond.
“It is a beginning of the new Nigeria we are all yielding for.
“For the council members, I urged you all to know that the possibility of a new Nigeria will begin with us, so Let us work hard in truth to actualized the dream.
“We should be proud of the party we belong to.
Our leader, Mr Peter Obi has promised us a new Nigeria.
“The inauguration is to prepare you all for the tasks ahead.
“NDC will win 98 percent votes in Anambra State.
“Let us ensure that all our candidates from top to bottom will win the 2027 election.
“Your tasks is to deliver your polling units 100 percent for our party.
“Please campaign with open mind and civility and not by sentiment.
“As you are campaigning, don’t assume that other political parties are sleeping, work hard to ensure victory for the party come January 16th, 2027.
Let us assist our presidential candidate to win the election.
Uzoezie while commending the media for their continue support in building the party in the state, noted that the party has put necessary measures in place to short down Anambra via home coming/mega rally ceremony for Mr Peter Obi, November 25th, 2026.
In his acceptance speech on behalf of other council members, the State Coordinator of the Campaign Council, Dr Ifeamyi Ibezim, express happiness joining and working with the NDC, stressing that since he joined the party he has fine peace.
He assure that the council under his coordination, will ensure 1.5 or 2 million votes for Mr Peter Obi in Anambra State.
He noted that Kano State has promised to give Peter Obi 1.5 million votes.
“We must ensure that the message of Peter Obi and other candidates of NDC get to the 5,526 polling units in the state.
While describing Obi as a destiny person sent by God to deliver Nigeria, Ibezim charged his follow council members to take the campaign down to their various wards and polling units as quickly as possible.
