The old Boys Association of Metu Memorial secondary school (class of 2001), has organised a career advocacy/prize giving day for the students of the institution, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.

According to the Coordinator of MMSS old boys class of 2001, Dr Amaefuna Kenechukwu , the aim of the event was to encourage the students and equally motivate the teachers to enhance the quality of products from the school. Dr Amaefuna who was also one of the speakers used the occasion to advise Alumni of the school as well as other Nigerians who have benefitted from the public school system to contribute their quota in improving the quality of education in the country, as that would help to improve the products of our school system and the society at large.

The group equally commended the current Principal of Metu Mem. Sec. School Onitsha, Mrs Chikeluba for her dedication to service and for assisting in making the event a huge success. Mrs. Chikeluba, the current principal, is one of the few teachers in active service in Metu MSS in 2001 ( the old boys year of graduation) who are still in service in the same school.

Highlights of the event include, Presentations from old boys of the school, interactive session between the students, teachers and the old boys, recognition of best 3 students in each class, recognition of exceptional teachers, vote of thanks from the students, teachers and the PTA chairman of the school.
