It was a Sporadic free day in Anambra as gunmen continue to have field day in their operations. Yesterday,Sunday ,seem the mother of all attacks as communities around Aguata, Agulu/Nanka, Adazi, Anaku, Abatete, Ogbunike had their own feel of these siege in a well coordinated Advanced assault.
At Akpo, gunmen had dropped a particular car, whisked away an unidentified person, along with his car, abandoning the one they came with to an undisclosed location.
At Agulu and Nanka respectively, four persons were reportedly shot.
Anaku, Ogbunike and Eke Abatete were not spared as well.
These multiple attacks came barely less than 24 hours, the unfortunate news of the beheading of Aguata II, lawmaker and his aide.
ANAMBRA PEOPLE gathered that gunmen invaded Isulo in Orumba North Local Government Area.
It was also gathered that the attack at Isulo left four siblings dead with their mother.
Two persons were killed at Abatete ,three were killed at at Ogbunike.
Eyewitnesses said the gunmen stormed those areas and opened fire on the victims and left.
When contacted, the state police spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga, said the details of the incidents were still sketchy.
Ikenga added that the command would talk about the incidents on Monday when they must have gotten a clear picture of what transpired.
However, one of the senior police officers who did not want to be quoted confirmed the Isulo incident.
He said that the woman and her children did not look like people from Igboland.
But he failed to confirm the other two locations, saying, “I have not received the signals of those ones.”
Tension had already heightened in the state following the constant attacks of the gunmen in recent times.
