The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo in his efforts to find lasting solution to perennial waste management challenges facing the state, has announced the readiness of his government to commence door to door collection of refuse, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.
Mr. Governor who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim made this revelation at Nnewi during a visit to Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing, IVM, Limited, Nnewi, Nnewi North LGA of the state.
Speaking during the visit, the governor reiterated state government commitment to patronizing local manufacturers to encourage economic growth and job creation, adding that local manufacturers understand challenges of our immediate environment and can guarantee same quality obtained in China and other Asian countries.
Prof. Soludo explained that the visit is to ascertain quality of equipment that will be deployed for effective door to door waste evacuation, saying that, soon receptacles being constructed by Innoson, a local vehicle manufacturing company based in Nnewi will soon be deployed, in addition to tricycles to cover hard to reach areas.
The Spokesperson of the company, Mr. Cornel Osigwe, assured of quality of their products, guaranteeing that they will serve the purpose in which they will be deployed for.

They should also construct machines that be selecting and be crushing the garbage and turn them useful to manue and raw materials.
Those machines are already being manufactured in Port Harcourt. The company, BOSKEL plans to also set up a manufacturing facility in Awka from July 2022. Pilots of these machines have been demonstrated to Anambra State Govt represented by the commissioner for environment. http://www.boskel.com
