Miss Okpalaku-Nath Vivian, the daughter of a retired Nigerian police officer has achieved unprecedented Academic excellence in Cyprus, a country in the Middle East.

Miss Vivian who hails from Achina, Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra state recently made first class honors, emerging top of her class from the department of Civil Engineering, Cyprus International University, Nicosia, Northern Cyprus, where she bagged a master’s degree in the field.

Vivian’s academic prowess dates back to her undergraduate days. As a 2018 Civil Engineering graduate of the Prestigious Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) Anambra State, Vivian came top of her class, emerging the best graduating student in the department.

On how she was able to achieve her academic successes, Vivian attributed her feats to her personal philosophy of self-discipline, goal setting, consistency and passion for education. “I set short term goals which include being prompt to lectures, submitting my assignments on time and setting targets for all my courses, all these helped me to achieve my long term goal of excellent grades”, she added.

Miss Vivian dedicated her academic success to God Almighty and her Dad, CSP Nathaniel Okpalaku Rtd whom she described as her number one role model.

The Academic Star, further attributes her academic successes to her strong basic secondary and first degree foundations. “My secondary education and first degree gave me strong basic foundations that made it easier for me to excel excellently here in Cyprus for my masters degree in Civil Engineering which was a continuation of my first degree.”

Miss Vivian has several international journals to her name. Her latest publications are entitled: (1) Identifying And Managing Most Common Risks In Construction Industry For Roads, (2) Recycled Solid Waste In Construction, (3) A Review On Bacteria Based Self-Healing Concrete amongst others.

Speaking through a phone interview, Vivian’s father, CSP Nathaniel Okpalaku Rtd, expressed gratitude to God Almighty for the grace to witness her daughter’s graduation even though he was unable to physically attend the convocation ceremony.

“I’m excited that my daughter has made both our family and Nigeria proud in Cyprus. I am happy for her efforts and feat in education, and I pray that God will continue to guide and protect her in all her endeavors. My family and I are with her in spirit”, CSP Okpalaku said.
