Anambra State’s templates in the fight against insecurity and violent agitation have been commended as the best model in South East, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division of Nigerian Army, Enugu, Major General U. T. Musa gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to Gov. Chukwuma Soludo in Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, recently.
Musa also presented plaque to the governor in commemoration of the feat.
Commending Gov. Soludo for being proactive in the campaign against insurgency, Musa explained that Army rates the governor higher than others in the state because the governor has been able to contain criminality and banditry to their lowest level.
According to Musa, this explains why the state records lowest cases among the five states in South East Geopolitical Zone apart from leading in counter response that tracks down bandits behind every attack within shortest time.
Musa also explained that Gov. Soludo’s devotion to welfare and logistics of operatives of security agencies, more than other governors, contributes to overall success of Anambra’s model against insecurity.
Therefore, he called on the people to reciprocate the governor’s commitment to their peace and security by continuing to volunteer information to appropriate quarters to forestall attacks.
Welcoming the new GOC, Soludo extended his condolences to Nigerian Army on the killing of some soldiers in Umunze, Orumba South Local Government Area, recently.
The governor also described the security situation as a contest that is being gradually won by the state government, adding that his administration will not be deterred by any threat in his efforts to provide round-the-clock security of lives and properties in every community in the state.
