Security personnel in the Anambra State police command have detained three notorious cultists, the state police command announced on Friday.

DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the state command’s police public relations officer, said in a statement on Friday that in their hideout were two locally manufactured pistols, one ladies’ machine, one expanded cartridge, charms, face masks, and substances that are thought to be hard drugs.

According to Ikenga, ‘Police operatives acting on credible intelligence burst into a criminal hideout at Nkpor, Idemili North LGA’ on November 1, 2023, at 5 a.m.

‘The suspects are 22-year-old Caleb Nwankwo; When they saw the police, 23-year-old Katchi Nwolisa and Okechukwu Freedom opened fire in an attempt to flee the scene.

The police engaged the armed criminals in a gun battle, demobilized Okechukwu, and arrested the two others who had been shot.’
