The Centre for Igbo Studies, primarily established as a research and learning resource center with a major focus on Igbo Studies, will be planning and executing an international conference in partnership with UNESCO, CISA, and IWA.

Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze (Onowu Abagana), the 2023 PDP Presidential Aspirant, Chairman of the CISA Board of Presidents, USA, and CEO of Victorian Care Medical Group Inc., Los Angeles, California, will chair the International Conference on Igbo Studies.

The conference will initiate the Igbo Village Project, an online Igbo teaching and learning program, kickstart the center’s in-house journals, and launch a number of other packages.

Central theme of the conference, “Reimagining Igbo Studies in 21st Century Nigeria,” and related sub-themes, seeks to leverage multidisciplinary dialectics in interrogating the strands that make up the enriching tapestry of the Igbo lived experiences.

The hybrid international conference will be held on Thursday, 18 August 2023 at Princess Alexandria Auditorium, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria.
