The Onitsha-Owerri Dual Carriage Federal Highway (Ozubulu) has collapsed due to severe erosion. The road, which serves as a major transportation route for commuters traveling between the Southeast and South-South regions, has now become impassable, causing gridlock and posing safety risks to travelers.
The collapse of the highway has raised concerns among both residents and authorities. Recognizing the critical nature of the situation,users have continued to reach out to the minister of works, Senator Umahi, urging him to intervene and facilitate immediate action to repair and restore the road.
Residents of the affected regions have expressed their worries regarding the potential economic consequences resulting from the closure of this major transportation artery. Business activities and trade between the Southeast and Southsouth regions are now greatly impacted, leading to delays and disruptions in the movement.
