Anambra is expected to witness influx of august visitors this week as political Amazon,philanthropist and Abuja-based billionaire Businesss Woman, Chief Dr Mrs Nkoli Imoh (Adadioramma Ukpor), prepares to give her late dad, Chief S A Arazu a befitting burial ceremony in Anambra State.
The burial ceremony which begins on the 19th October, 2023 ,with a vigil at the ancestral home of the Arazu family,Nkwere,Umudike Ukpor is expected to climax at the grand reception slated for 21st October, 2023 at the Basilica of Holy Trinity Field,Onitsha . There will be requiem mass for the deceased at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Umudike Ukpor, Nnewi South LGA Area of Anambra State . This will be followed by interment at the deceased country home. The main funeral events which shifts to Holy Trinity field, Onitsha, is expected to be attended by notable dignitaries, politicians, and business associates from across the country.
Born in 1933 in Ukpor, Anambra State,Chief Sir Simeon Akachukwu Arazu began elementary education at St Mary’s catholic school at Ukpor center l. He later obtained his standard six at St Michael’s Catholic school Ozubulu.
By 1952, Simeon Akachukwu moved to portharcourt in search of green pastures. He did all kinds of menial jobs at the PWD dock yard to survive. Mother Luck smiled on him when through his maternal uncle he got an employment in the Marketing and Export Shipping line Portharcourt wharf.
A very hardworking Man,he bought his first car, a Morris Oxford in 1957 and became the fourth person in the entire Ukpor community to own a car.
In 1959,Sir Simeon started his own business, majoring in the auto spare parts. He was the first business man to import new motor spare parts in portharcourt. He won the distributorship of Lucas House UAC British Motor Spare parts and his business covers the whole of Eastern region at that time. He was nicknamed the “Lucas Man” For his transparency, prudence and hardwork and was awarded the Gold and White Lion of Lucas Certificate.
Beyond business, Sir Simeon Akachukwu Arazu was a model family man, he married his heartthrob Mrs Eunice Chinwe Arazu in 1960.A marriage blessed with seven children.
Sir Simeon Akachukwu Arazu was an accomplished man in every sense and dimension. He molded and nurtured a lot of present day Igbo business men. He was a member of the Order of Knights of St John International, He was the Vice President General of Ukpor Improvement Union, President General of Umudike General Assembly, member of Ìgwè’s cabinet, Chairman building committee of Holy Trinity Parish Umudike Ukpor.
Sir Simeon Akachukwu Arazu will fondly be remembered for his pious life, immense contributions to the church, community leadership and service to humanity.
