He disclosed that in Tansian University, students are taken as their own children whose welfare/nurturing is continued from their various homes and families.

“The parents’ forum allows for cross fertilisation of ideas on how best to cater for the needs and interests of the students. As the saying goes, no one has a monopoly of ideas/knowledge.”

The Vice Chancellor also disclosed that as part of sustainability and in advancing the frontiers of knowledge through teaching and research, Tansian University now runs post graduate courses, which are duly approved in the Faculties of Management and Social Science as well as Natural and Applied Sciences.

He identified funding as a major challenge confronting the university as a private tertiary institution noting that there is no government subvention or TETFund interventions for private universities in the country.

Tansian University is a faith-based institution founded by the late Monsignor, John Bosco Akam. It was licensed to function as a University in 2007 by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
