A female pedestrian was on Friday crushed to death by a hit-and-run driver in Onitsha, Anambra State.
The crash which occurred around 12pm involved a commercial bus without registration number.
An eye witness who pleaded anonymity said the deceased was knocked down by the vehicle driver who sped off immediately.
Confirming the incident, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Adeoye Irelewuyi commiserated with the deceased family.
He advised vehicle owners to ensure they fixed their vehicles on a regular basis,
especially during the rainy season, just as he urged motorists to grant every road user equal right of way.
“At about 12:57hrs of the day, a Toyota Hiace commercial bus without Number, enroute express Upper Iweka, rammed into a pedestrian female adult and zoomed off.
“FRSC rescue team arrived the scene and took the victims who was already killed to Toronto Mortuary as the Doctor confirmed her lifeless,” he added.
