Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s appointment process has left a bitter taste in the mouths of Anambra citizens.

The promised “competitive exams before appointments” have given way to cronyism and nepotism, proving Michels’ “Iron Rule of Oligarchy” theory.

Michels’ theory posits that all organizations, no matter how democratic or egalitarian their intentions, will inevitably succumb to the concentration of power in the hands of a select few.

The same old politics of patronage and favoritism is playing out in Soludo’s Anambra, betraying the trust of the people.

The people did not elect Soludo to perpetuate the status quo.

We demanded a leader who would bring meritocracy and transparency. Instead, we got a government of friends and associates, handpicked to serve the interests of the few.

Anambra deserves better.

We demand a government that represents the people, not just the privileged; we demand a government that rewards hard work and merit, not just connections and loyalty.

Soludo, it’s time to rethink your appointment process and keep your campaign promises.

The people are watching, and they won’t hesitate to hold you accountable at the appropriate time.

Let’s break the iron grip of oligarchy and build a government that truly serves the people, not just the powerful few.

Above all, in all, let’s remember that power is transient and fleeting.
