…I envy Nnewi people for having him as son – Emmy Young, bosom friend
By Chuks Eke
As stage is now set for the conduct of chairmanship and councillorship election in all the 21 local government areas of Anambra state on September 28, this year, following the recent inauguration of Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission, ANSIEC by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, political party stalwarts are beginning to indicate their interest to contest under the platform of various political parties.
Among those who have so far indicated their interest are Barrister Chinedu Leonard TINO Adili-Ubah, the Convener of Nnewi Ga Adi Nma Movement and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Made In Nigeria Goods, MING.
In his Twitter Handle, Adili-Ubah who hails from Umudim Ward 1, noted that he is going to contest the chairmanship position of Nnewi North Local Government Council, under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA).
In the Handle, Adili-Ubah told his large audience that his interest to contest the chairmanship slot was born out of his passion to develop all nooks and crannies of Nnewi North Local Government Area and lift it up to a befitting status.
Besides, he contended that it is the turn of Umudim Ward 1 to occupy the leadership position of the council area this time around because Umudim Ward 11 has produced various leadership positions at various times in the past.
According to the chairmanship hopeful, the time is ripe for Umudim Ward 1 to produce the Chairman of Nnewi North and I am appealing to Ndi Nnewi to throw their support for Umudim ward 1 in the forthcoming Local Government Council polls slated for Saturday, September 28, 2024″.
“While admonishing Ndi Nnewi to come out en masse and exercise their franchise, so as to elect a capacity rated and humanitarian oriented leader, I must emphasize that now is the turn of Umudim Ward 1 because Umudim Ward 11 has produced no fewer than 10 members in key positions in Nnewi North ranging from Local Government Council Chairmen, Nzuko Ora President-Generals and what have you”.
“If I may go down the memory lane, I must enumerate that the positions occupied by indigenes of Ward 11 in the last 20 years, leaving Umudim Ward 1 with nothing, is not fair. In 2001, during the era of Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoye who represented Nnewi North constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly hailed from Ward 11”.
“When Chris Ngige assumed office as the governor of Anambra State in 2003, Hon. Omoh Okeke emerged as Nnewi North Local Government Council Chairman from Umudim Ward 11. Thereafter, he handed over the mantle of leadership to Hon. Calista Adimachukwu (Mmilioma) from Ward 11 as well. The emergence of Hon. Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu Jnr. from Umudim Ward 11 as the Sole Administrator is also still fresh in our minds”.
“When the House of Assembly slot rotated to Umudim, Hon. Amala Anazodo from Ward 11 again led. Nzuko Ora Nnewi Leadership formular is another platform which has favoured only ward 11 members as the emergence of Hon. Okoye served and Hon. Ugochukwu Udemezue ( Ifeneti) served two terms as President and Vice- President respectively”.
“In the slots arrangement of Nnewi Youths leadership for Umudim, Mr. JP Muoneke and currently Engr. Sampson Okwudili both from Umudim Wardc11 is crystal clear. I am now calling on the amiable Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Igwe Nnewi, Igwe Dr. K.O.N. Orizu 111 JP OON, The Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Council, Engr. Chris Obiorah KSJI, the President- General of Nzuko Ora Nnewi, Dr. Maduka Atueyi, Dr. Clerus Ibeto CON and other stakeholders to do justice to this lopsided arrangement by zoning the Local Government Council Chairmanship Election to Umudim Ward 1 solely. I am in high spirit that truth will prevail in Nnewi in line with the motto of my movement, Ka Eziokwu Welu Oke”.
Meantime, Adili-Ubah’s expression of interest has so far attracted numerous positive reactions from the general public, including his relations, friends and well wishes, among whom is Emeka Ezeh (aka Emmy Young), an Executive Assistant, EA to former Governor Willie Obiano.
In his reaction to the declaration, Emmy Young who identified Adili-Ubah as a bossom friend, an honest, successful, fulfilled and self-made man, declared: “apart from the fact that I am convinced that he will give Nnewi North the required positive changes if he becomes the elected Chairman of the Local Government Council, Chinedu has the capacity and charisma to canvass for Governor Soludo’s second tenure victory during the forthcoming governorship election in the state”.
“For such a young, educated and vibrant lawyer who have won many cases in the law courts and who knows his onions to sit at the helm of affairs as council boss, there is no doubt that he will be of immence assistance to Soludo’s victory.
“I am not saying this because he is my friend. No. But because I know the stuff he is made of. He will bring the wealth of his experience to bear in the administration of the local government system”.
Adili-Ubah said his decision to contest is to sacrifice himself for the good of Nnewi North, including Otolo, Uruagu, Umudim and Nnewi-Ichi and I agree with him that he can do that because he is a self-made man”.
According to Emmy Young, “I am not from Nnewi but from the neighbouring Nnobi but I am envying Ndi Nnewi for having Adili-Ubah as their son. They really have a thorough bred man. I envy Nnewi people and it is obvious that he will deliver. I can vouch for him that he is not coming for Nnewi North money but for work”.
“He has many people on his scholarship list. He is a silent operator. He has built houes for widows, feeds widows and less privileged persons. He has sponsored many medical outreach, distributed palliatives from time to time. He is reliable, accountable and trust worthy. He will make a tremendous achievements. He deserves a chance to do an unprecedented transformation of Nnewi North. I believe he will not disappoint them”.
“I repeat, Chinedu is not going there to embezzle public funds. A lot of things are going wrong in Nnewi North Local Government Area. The internal roads are bad and I have the trust on him that he will rehabilitate the roads and do others thing in the interest of the people and humanity when elected the Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government”.
Hello. This post was extremely remarkable, particularly because I was browsing for thoughts on this subject last Saturday.
