Notable Igbo sons and daughters including lovers of traditional folktales have come out in their large numbers to celebrate the cultural heritage of the Igbo at the stage play of the movie “Nma Oha”, which means the beauty of the people.
The movie which stars A-list actors is a captivating story with powerful exploration of unity and preservation of the heritage of Ndigbo. It also harps on the need for peaceful co-existence among the country’s ethnic divides.
Top among those who graced the stage play at Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja was the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye.
The Minister who also put up a surprising performance at stage in a movie role applauded the movie which has an engaging and educative storyline.
“I’m happy to be part of this great artistic work to mark the Independence of our country and to show the world how much of a united people we are.
“I commend the creativity embedded in this art work and I encourage movie producers to focus more on such movies that replicate who we truly are as a people and works that enhance our reputation in the outside world”, she said.
Also present at the colourful stage play event were former Anambra North Senator, Stella Oduah
and a host of other distinguished Individuals.
Speaking, a renowned entertainment promoter and principal partner of the movie, the CEO One Percent, Amb. Stephanie Nnadi said the movie will be in series, which will also include cultural heritage of people from other parts of the country, including Yoruba and Hausa.
She said the movie serves as a reminder on what she Igbo cultural values stand for, so that it could be upheld.
A veteran actor and producer of “Nma Oha”, Patrick Otoro while corroborating Amb. Nnadi said subsequent series will include Edo, Gbagyi, Urhobo and other ethnic minority cultures, as a way of celebrating Nigeria.
The movie also attracted partners and sponsors across board, including Ethiopian Airlines, RuZu Products, Flame TV, Vortex, Haworth Oil & Gas and others.
It also featured conferment of awards on notable individuals and brands
Francis Duru, Monalisa Chinda, Sydney Diala, Agility Onuoha and many more are top entertainers that make up the cast list.
