A Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Umuawulu community, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, High Chief Dr. Azubuike Ekweozor (Ide Umuawulu) has launched mobilization campaign for Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s bid for second term.
Ekweozor, who spoke to journalists after a meeting with Umuawulu ward party executives and stakeholders, expressed his unwavering support for the governor, highlighting his impressive performance in just two years and eight months in office.
According to Ide Umuawulu, the governor’s accomplishments have far outpaced those of his predecessors, adding that “there is no vacancy” in the Anambra State Government House in 2025.
“Soludo has elevated public service to a higher standard and has raised the bar for governance. His style is the antithesis of ‘brigandage’—the kind of desperate politics exemplified by others in the past.
“His outstanding achievements in job creation, youth empowerment, infrastructure development, industrialization, health, and education over this period have set the stage for his second-term victory,” said Ekweozor.
Meanwhile, Ide Umuawulu’s grassroots-driven organization, the Ide Global Movement, which has a presence in all communities within the Awka North/South Federal Constituency, is also backing Soludo’s second-term bid.
The foundation’s primary goal is to empower the less privileged and support good governance.
The Umuawulu APGA ward executives and stakeholders officially installed Chief Ekweozor as the leader of the party in Umuawulu.
In his acceptance speech, Ide Umuawulu expressed his gratitude to the Umuawulu APGA family and pledged to leverage his influence to strengthen the party and reconcile aggrieved members.
Speaking on behalf of the party executives, Umuawulu APGA ward chairman, Hon. Sunday Okpala, described Ide Umuawulu as the party’s pillar, noting his financial strength and ability to move the party forward.
He emphasized that Soludo’s re-election in 2025 would further unite Ndigbo, giving them a stronger voice at the national level.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the President General of Umuawulu Community, Chief Barrister Chris Ekweozor, and the Awka South LGA APGA Chairman, Barrister Chukwuma Lawrence.
A minute’s silence was observed in honor of the late APGA Umuawulu leader, Rt. Hon. Harford Oseke.
