The entertainment-packed event is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, with veteran master of ceremonies, MC Alcapela, set to host the evening.
The show promises an exciting blend of live music, entertainment, social interaction and branded experiences, with Nigerian Breweries expected to showcase some of its popular brands throughout the event.
The partnership is not a one-off engagement. Nigerian Breweries has returned to Nwoke Udi Palmwine Bar for the BIG WEEKEND SHOW, building on the venue’s established ability to attract a steady stream of patrons and provide a suitable setting for large-scale brand activations.Shop African Art
The choice of Nwoke Udi also reflects the growing profile of the popular Awka entertainment venue, known for its consistent patronage, open-air palm-wine setting and lively atmosphere that keeps guests entertained from the afternoon well into the night.
Speaking on preparations for the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Nwoke Udi Palmwine Bar and Nnaochie Foods, Mazi Ndubisi Eze, said all arrangements had been concluded to ensure a memorable experience for guests.
“We have concluded plans to host a top-notch party,” Eze said.
According to him, additional measures have also been put in place to improve customer experience during the event, particularly in the areas of service delivery and convenience.
Service operations on the floor have been strengthened, while a bar code system has been introduced to enable guests to make payments faster and reduce the time spent waiting in queues.
Security arrangements have also been put in place by the management of the bar. Attendants and supervisors are expected to respond promptly to issues that may arise during the event, particularly as the venue prepares for a potentially large turnout.
The headline appearance of African China is expected to be one of the major attractions of the evening.
African China remains a familiar and enduring name in the South-East live entertainment circuit, with a catalogue that continues to resonate with audiences who grew up listening to his music, as well as younger fans who have embraced some of his popular songs and choruses.
His appearance, alongside the hosting duties of MC Alcapela, is expected to give the event a broader entertainment dimension, ensuring that the evening offers more than a conventional concert experience.
While African China provides the musical attraction, Alcapela is expected to keep the audience engaged between performances and activities, helping to maintain the energy of the venue throughout the event.
For patrons in Awka and surrounding communities, the BIG WEEKEND SHOW brings together a familiar entertainment venue, a well-known Nigerian artiste and a major beverage brand in an event designed around music, socialising, entertainment and customer engagement.
The event will hold at Nwoke Udi Palmwine Bar, Abakaliki Street, Awka, with activities scheduled to commence from 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 4.
The latest edition also comes with expectations of exciting giveaways, following the impressive prizes recorded at the previous BIG WEEKEND SHOW.
At the last edition, several customers went home with valuable prizes, including refrigerators, television sets, cartons of drinks and other giveaway items, adding an extra incentive for patrons to participate fully in the event.
With African China headlining the entertainment, MC Alcapela anchoring the programme and Nigerian Breweries backing the activation, the BIG WEEKEND SHOW is expected to provide another major Sunday entertainment attraction for residents and visitors to Awka.
