Mrs. Blessing Nwaka has finally been laid to rest after tragically being set ablaze by her husband in Abagana, Anambra State. The burial took place on June 27, 2025.

In January, her husband, Mr. Sunday Nwaka, was arrested and is currently in police custody. It was reported that he poured a can of fuel on Blessing during a minor family dispute and then ignited her.

A graphic video circulated on social media showing the victim fleeing for safety, suffering from third-degree burns on her torso and other parts of her body. Thankfully, passersby and neighbours were able to extinguish the flames, but she sustained severe injuries.

Blessing was rushed to a medical facility in Enugwu-Ukwu, where she was pronounced dead at around 3 a.m. the following day.

Blessing had five sons with her husband.
