Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command, attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Awkuzu, on Monday arrested a male suspect, identified as Chukwujekwu Micheal Okoye, a.k.a. “Bus-Stop,” aged 25, in connection with the murder of two individuals in Oko, Orumba North Local Government Area of the state.

According to a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, the arrest follows a recent violent incident in Oko which resulted in the injury of two people, the murder of two others, and the abduction of two victims who were later released after ransom was paid.

The incidents occurred early last month at Total Junction and Tipper Junction, both in Oko.

Ikenga further stated that the operatives recovered one automatic pump-action gun and two mobile phones from the suspect.

The suspect, according to the police spokesman, had on the morning of May 22, 2025, allegedly robbed a victim at gunpoint in Oko, stealing a handset and other valuables.

During interrogation, Okoye reportedly confessed to being an active member of the Aye Confraternity cult group and claimed to hold a leadership position within the group, known as a “Lord.”

He also disclosed that the cult had planned an initiation ceremony and a rival cult attack scheduled for July 7, 2025.

Okoye detailed how he and six other gang members carried out the attack in Oko on June 19, 2025.

“Given the information provided by the suspect, operatives have activated plans to apprehend the remaining gang members, with the aim of dismantling the criminal network operating within the state,” SP Ikenga said.
