The Nigerian Super Falcons have continued to receive heroic receptions following their triumph over the Moroccan team last weekend with a 3 – 2 win, to lift the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2024.
The latest to receive them is the Chairman of Tettrazzini Group, Prince Don Okonkwo who hosted the champions to a private dinner in Abuja.
Prince Okonkwo, a talent development strategist expressed delight that the ladies brought joy to millions of Nigerians across the world by activating the Nigerian spirit, even when the luck was not in their to emerge victorious.
The first half of the final game left Nigeria with a 2 – 0 deficit over the Moroccan team, raising concern in the minds of Nigerians on the ability of the women team to win the game.
The table however turned at the second half when the Nigerian team emerged with a new vigour, trouncing their Moroccan opponents with a 3 – 2 win.
Prince Okonkwo assured the team of his unalloyed support and partnership with regards to their career development.
It could be recalled that he has been an ardent supporter of talent, ranging from music, sports, movie and other professional endeavours that give young people access to meaningful livelihood.
Captain of the team, Ajibade thanked Prince Okonkwo for his kind gesture and assured the readiness of the team to continue making the nation proud even at the global stage.
Dr. Okonkwo is also a known voice in Africa’s political and business environment where he has consistently continued to make contributions towards making the environment conducive in both fields.
He is the first private individual to host the team after they were first received by governments.
