The revered Nnewi entrepreneur, popularly known as Omekannaya or Omekadad, sponsored the high-profile vacation for his trusted associates — collectively known as Team Omekadad or Ibeto Boys (IBB) — as a gesture of appreciation for their staunch loyalty, friendship, and shared values.
The travel entourage, which includes traditional rulers, corporate giants, community leaders, and media professionals, took off over the weekend and is expected to visit multiple key cities across Europe during the exclusive tour. Notable figures in the entourage include the respected traditional ruler of Uruagu-Nnewi, H.R.H. Obi Afam Obi, Ogidi III; Mrs. Ngozi Ukachukwu, a prominent figure in the state; President General of Uruagu-Nnewi and CEO of Organizer Oil & Gas, Chief Innocent Okoli; Managing Director of Solid Base Impex, Mr. Paul Ileka; a respected associate, Mr. Patrick Ubajaka; the MD of Damax Events, Mr. Cosmas Ngonadi; Dr Nelson Omenugha and the founder of Onye Ije Media, Mazi Ifeanyi Nwosu, among others.
Interestingly, most of the individuals on the trip are themselves men and women of notable means and social standing, capable of independently financing such international vacations. However, in a rare philanthropic gesture, Chief Ibeto chose to personally sponsor the entire travel experience for the team.
