The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has commissioned a newly established Chinese-owned restaurant in Awka, the state capital, describing the development as a clear indication that investor confidence is steadily returning to the state, largely due to improved security and deliberate government reforms.

The siting of the restaurant, known as Hua Ting, is located at No. 5B Commissioners’ Quarters, Awka, and its formal opening has attracted commendations and positive reactions from residents and food lovers, who see the venture as a strong evidence that Anambra is increasingly becoming a safe and attractive destination hub for both local and foreign investments.

Speaking during the commissioning of the restaurant on Friday, the Deputy Governor attributed the emergence of such foreign-owned businesses to the sustained security interventions of the Soludo administration. He emphasized that the government has remained deliberate in its strategy to restore law, order, and public confidence, noting that security is the foundation upon which economic growth, tourism, and enterprise development thrive.

Dr. Ibezim, who attested that foreign investors do not commit their resources casually, further stressed that their presence in Anambra confirms their deep assessments and trust in the stability and governance direction of the state. According to him, the successful establishment of Hua Ting Restaurant represents only the beginning of a broader wave of investments expected to flow into different sectors of the state’s economy.

He also pointed out that beyond boosting the hospitality industry, the restaurant would create employment for young people, encourage skills transfer, and support cultural and cuisine exchange between Nigerians and the Chinese community, adding that such multicultural business activities generally enrich both the tourism, social and economic life of the state.

The Deputy Governor reassured investors that the state government remains fully committed to consolidating its security architecture through continuous support for law enforcement agencies, community policing frameworks, and intelligence-driven operations to ensure a peaceful environment for businesses to thrive. He also assured sustenance of favourable policies and the enabling environment that attract and help and help investments to thrive.

The commissioning ceremony attracted several high-profile dignitaries, including the Comptroller of Immigration Services in the state, Comptroller Timothy Nwanegbo; the State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor; the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Ibrahim Ezekiel; the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation Department, DCP Mantu Chon, mni; the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, among other stakeholders.

Some of the guests in their separate reactions, expressed optimism that the presence of the Chinese restaurant would further boost nightlife in Awka, expand the state’s hospitality offerings, stimulate local business activities, and further enhance Anambra’s image as a rising commercial and tourism hub in the Southeast and beyond.

This reporter, Izunna Okafor, gathered that Hua Ting Restaurant, reputed for its exceptional delicacies and Illecebrosus menu, is located at Commissioners’ Quarters, Awka, and can be reached through its official contact line (09012318946) and platforms.
