Sons and daughters of Umuoji, a community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, living in the United Kingdom, have marked the 2025 end-of-year party in London. The event organised by the leadership of Umuoji Improvement Union (UIU), which attracted several sons and daughters of Umuoji across Europe and from Nigeria, was held at the Mursell Estate Hall, Portland Grove, Stockwell, London.
Many United Kingdom-based Umuoji indigenes were at the event with their children, signaling a growing interest among members of this community to foster a strong and formidable generational sustenance of the Umuoji community in the UK.
The well-attended event was graced by the presence of Arch Chief and Mrs. Patrice Okaro, Hon. Barr. Ifeanyi Mbanusi, a chieftain of the ADC, who joined his family in Dublin, attended with his wife, Mrs. Florence Mbanusi, along with two of their children. Mr. and Mrs. Dona Muoghalu, Ichie Oranwezue-aku, Dr. Uche Nwachukwu, Chief George Osefo, Ichief Ezeugo, Chief Aron Muoghalu, Lawrence Egbuonu, Ichie Ijele, Mr. Ifeanyi Nwachukwu, Chief and Mrs. Victor Onwuezoba, Mr and Mrs. Amaechi Onwuachu, Mr. Obikwelu Chukwuemeka Nwachukwu, Mr. Chibuzor Ubogu, Mr. and Mrs. Chiedu Onwuachu, among many other attendees. At this year’s end-of-the-year party of the Umuoji community in the United Kingdom, many attendees donated generously towards the progress and prosperity of the diaspora community as well as Umuoji back at home.
The event’s success reflects a fresh vigor with which the Igbo community in the diaspora is working towards contributing its fair share to the development demands at home.
