A specialist bariatric and weight management service has been unveiled in Onitsha, Anambra State, with the launch of Getslim Bariatric Center in partnership with Rose Specialist Hospital.

The new service centre, located at 14 Njoku Crescent, Oyolu Fighter, off College Road, 3-3 Onitsha, is expected to widen access to medically supervised weight management and bariatric care in the South-East.

Rose Specialist Hospital, a leading private healthcare facility in the state, is known for its multidisciplinary services and 24-hour comprehensive care. The hospital provides diagnostics, general and specialist surgery, cardiology, internal medicine, paediatrics, dialysis and emergency ambulance services, supported by modern medical equipment.

Under the partnership, residents of Onitsha and neighbouring communities can now access specialist bariatric consultations and treatment locally, without travelling to Lagos, Abuja or outside the country.

Services to be offered by Getslim Bariatric Center at the Onitsha location include comprehensive patient evaluation, advanced bariatric surgical options and structured weight-loss support designed to promote long-term health outcomes.

Speaking on the launch, the Managing Director of Getslim Bariatric Center said the collaboration was aimed at integrating specialist bariatric expertise into a trusted and well-equipped clinical environment.

“By aligning with an established institution like Rose Specialist Hospital, we are bringing our bariatric expertise closer to the people of Onitsha within a healthcare setting they already trust,” the managing director said.

He added that the centre was committed to providing safe, affordable and patient-centred weight management solutions tailored to individual medical needs.

The launch is seen as a boost to specialised healthcare delivery in Anambra State and the wider South-East, amid growing demand for world-class medical services within the region.

Health stakeholders say the development could help reduce medical tourism and strengthen local capacity in the management of obesity-related conditions.
