Chief Dr. Akai Egwuonwu on Wednesday in Awka, Anambra State, reconstituted his media team as part of strategic preparations for the 2027 general election. A leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance -APGA and the Director General of Governor Soludo’s re-election campaign in Nnewi South LGA, Chief Akai Egwuonwu intends to represent Anambra South Senatorial District in the National Assembly in 2027.
In 2025, Dr. Egwuonwu vigorously contested the Anambra South senatorial seat, but later aligned with the electoral college system, organised by Governor Charles Soludo, which produced Senator Emma Nwachukwu as the party’s candidate for the district and eventually the senator representing Anambra South.
While inaugurating the newly reconstituted Akai Egwuonwu Media Team, Chief Egwuonwu reiterated his firm commitment to delivering quality and people-oriented representation to the good people of Anambra South at the Senate.
He also pledged to work in synergy with the Soludo-led administration to attract and consolidate democracy dividends across the district.
According to Egwuonwu, if given the mandate in 2027, he would not only fulfill his earlier campaign promises but surpass them through impactful legislation, empowerment initiatives, and responsive leadership.
The media team comprises seasoned professionals tasked with ensuring effective communication, strategic engagement, and adequate publicity for the aspirant, who remains a life patron of APGA.
