An APGA chieftain and oil magnate, Hon. Chinedu Obumneme Anyaso, has set on motion his intention to contest the 2027 general election to represent Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
Hon. Anyaso, a graduate of Political Science from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, and the Chairman of IPMAN, Southeast, while addressing journalists in Awka on Wednesday said that his decision to throw his hat into the ring was borne out of a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to the people of the constituency.
According to him, his academic background in Political Science, coupled with his administrative experience and entrepreneurial journey, has adequately prepared him to deliver effective and impactful representation.
Furthermore, Mr. Anyaso, who hails from Ekwulummili in Nnewi South LGA, explained that his ambition is driven by the desire to bridge the gap created by what he described as years of inadequate representation, and to ensure that the people of Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo secure their rightful share of national opportunities and resources.
“My people deserve quality representation, and that is exactly what I am determined to provide when given the mandate. Beyond my training as a political scientist, I possess the administrative competence and political will required to attract meaningful Federal Government presence and development projects to our constituency, ”he said.
Hon. Anyaso further revealed that he has carefully developed a comprehensive, people-oriented manifesto designed to uplift the socio-economic wellbeing of his constituents. He also assured that his programmes would be innovative, inclusive and distinctly different from what the constituency has experienced in the past.
“I have lined up several impactful initiatives that will directly address the needs of our people. These programmes will soon be unveiled. I am resolute in my commitment to make a clear and measurable difference,” he vowed.
This bold step forward signals the beginning of what promises to be an engaging political contest ahead of the 2027 General Elections, particularly in Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency.
