Prof Okoli Hands Over to Dr Ejezie as 5th Substantive Provost

A significant leadership transition took place today, Monday, 18th May, 2027, at the Main Campus of the College as Prof. Theresa Okoli formally handed over the affairs of the institution to Dr. Virginia Ejezie, who assumes office as the 5th Substantive Provost of the College.

 

The official handover ceremony was held at the Provost’s Office, Main Campus and witnessed by principal officers, members of Management, staff, and well wishers who gathered to mark the historic occasion.

Speaking during the ceremony, Prof. Theresa Okoli expressed gratitude to God and appreciated members of staff and the entire College community for the cooperation and support she enjoyed throughout her tenure as Provost.

 

She noted that the progress recorded during her administration was made possible through collective commitment, dedication, and teamwork.

Prof. Okoli congratulated Dr. Virginia Ejezie on her emergence as the 5th Substantive Provost and expressed confidence in her capacity to sustain and advance the vision and mission of the College. She urged members of staff to extend the same support and cooperation to the new Provost to enable her administration succeed.

 

She further encouraged the College community to remain committed to excellence, unity, and progress.

 

In her acceptance remarks, Dr. Virginia Ejezie thanked Prof. Theresa Okoli for her service, leadership, and contributions to the growth of the institution.

 

She described the transition as a call to greater responsibility and pledged to take the College to an enviable height.

 

Dr. Ejezie assured staff and students of her commitment to inclusive leadership, academic excellence, discipline, and sustainable development within the College.

 

The ceremony featured the formal signing and transfer of handover documents as well as the symbolic presentation of official files, marking the smooth transition of leadership in the institution.

 

Some Management staff present at the ceremony include the Deputy Provost, Dr TAK Nzeribe, the Registrar, Dr (Mrs) B.C Nkah, the newly appointed Registrar, Comrade Joachim Eze, the Bursar, Mr Ethelbert Echedo, the incoming Bursar, Mr Emeka Oguegbulu, and the College Librarian, Dr S.A Agada.

 

Also present were the College Director of Works and Services, Engr Jude Ezemezue, the Chief Security Officer, Chukwuemeka Ijioma, the College Public Relations Officer, Sam Otti, among others.
