Bishop Emeka Nwankpa, on Monday engaged three Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) and seven other lawyers to challenge allegations by Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, that he is a fake pastor.

Bishop Nwankpa, the General Overseer of Chapel of Faith Bible Assembly, Onitsha, has been accused of propagating false Christian teachings and undermining Christian values through the staging of alleged fake miracles.

At the resumed hearing of his bail application on Monday, the cleric assembled a formidable legal team comprising three SANs and seven other lawyers to contest the allegations brought against him by the Anambra State Government.

However, lawyers representing the Anambra State Government, including officials from the Office of the Attorney-General, failed to appear in court.

As a result of their absence, the presiding judge was unable to proceed with the matter and subsequently adjourned the case until Friday, June 19, 2026, for further hearing on the bail application.

Meanwhile, hundreds of worshippers and supporters gathered within the court premises in a show of solidarity with Bishop Nwankpa.

The supporters expressed confidence in the judicial process and maintained that justice would ultimately prevail in the matter.
