Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo travelled to Ebonyi State on Monday to join a grand endorsement rally for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring his support for the administration and calling on the Igbo people to abandon grievance-based politics in favour of strategic partnership.

Addressing a large crowd in Abakaliki alongside Ebonyi State Governor, whom he described warmly as his brother, Soludo framed his attendance as a solidarity visit, saying progressives across Nigeria needed to unite behind a common agenda. He acknowledged that the Ebonyi Governor would remain in office until 2031 and expressed pride in the growing cooperation between progressive forces in the country.

Soludo, who leads the All Progressives Grand Alliance, said the rally was about more than partisan politics, stressing that the moment called for progressives across party lines to work together. He indicated that APGA would soon convene formally to consolidate its position, with the broader aim of building a national progressive front that would support the continuity of the foundations being laid by the Tinubu administration.

His most pointed remarks were directed at his fellow Igbo. Soludo urged the region to move decisively away from what he called the politics of lamentations, arguing that the South-East had for too long allowed protest and grievance to define its political choices. He called instead for what he described as an alliance for progress, a pragmatic partnership aimed at securing prosperity and relevance for Ndi Igbo within the Nigerian political landscape. He urged Igbo people to unite and not waste their votes.

The rally drew a large crowd and was seen as a significant moment in the ongoing political realignment within the South-East, with Soludo’s presence lending considerable weight to efforts to draw the region closer to the Tinubu administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
