Anambra govt seeks partnership to build World Class Film Village

Anambra State government is seeking for both local and international partnership to build a World Class Film Village to train Anambra youths to become Tour Guards, Dancers, Film-makers and entrepreneurs in entertainment industry.

 

The State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Barr. Udorji Amedu who announced this while speaking with journalists in Awka on Wednesday, said the government is also building a Cultural Centre and Opera House, which would be in form of music centre, where young people could go and learn music.

 

Amedu said the hubs are expected to accommodate both local and intercontinental parks.

The Commissioner noted that the state government under the watch of his Ministry has equally mapped out plans to build a five star hotel, big city park, World Class Zoo and Cultural Centre within the Awka capital city, Anam Sand Beach in Anambra East/West region and Niger River Leisure Park at Onitsha/Ogbaru region and also developing the already existing caves in the state, comprising Ogbunike Cave in Oyi council area, Owerre-Ezukala Waterfall and Cave in Orumba South council area and Agulu Lake Leisure Park in Anaocha Local Government Area of the State respectively.

 

According to him, the above mentioned projects are the major ingredients to governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s vision of making Anambra a destination hub of Nigeria by 2070.

 

He appealed to Anambra residents to continue to pray and support the governor to enable him actualize his vision for a better Anambra state and the county at large.
