Anambra Central Senatorial Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Anambra Central Senatorial District, Ven. Tochukwu Ikezue has congratulated Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke on his 45th year of Priestly Ordination.
The Archbishop marked the celebration with ordination of eleven Priests at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Archdiocese of Onitsha.
Speaking during the event, Ikezue described the ordination ceremony as powerful testament to the enduring faith, dedication, and spiritual vitality of the Church in the State.
He said, “It’s with immense joy and profound gratitude to God that I join the entire Church and the people of God and body of Christ in Nigeria and the world in congratulating you on the joyous occasion of your 45th Priestly Ordination Anniversary.
“My day was fulfilled because I was there to witness how in your simplicity you comemorated it with an ordination of eleven Priests.
“Forty-five years of faithful priestly service is a remarkable testimony of your unwavering commitment to Christ, the Church, and the flock entrusted to your care.
“From your early years in the priesthood to your elevation as Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha, you have remained a shining example of pastoral zeal, spiritual depth, humility, and dedicated leadership.
“Your tireless efforts in evangelization, formation of priests, education, and holistic development of the faithful have left an indelible mark on the Archdiocese of Onitsha and beyond.
“As you celebrate this golden milestone, may the Lord whom you have served so faithfully continue to renew your strength, grant you robust health, and fill you with fresh graces for the years ahead.
“May the joy of the Holy Spirit sustain you as you continue to shepherd God’s people with the same love and dedication that have defined your ministry.”
The LP candidate also commended the Rev. Fr. Dominic Nnoruka, one of the newly ordained Priests and kinsman from Ogidi in Idemmili North LGA on the joyous occasion of his priestly ordination.
He admonished him to remain authentic by being himself, stay focused and remain determined in surmounting the inevitable tribulations that come with priestly ministry.
The Senatorial hopeful emphasized the importance of unwavering commitment to one’s calling, prayerful dependence on God, and selfless service to the people of God, especially in prevailing challenging times.

“The priesthood is a noble and demanding vocation. I urge you, Fr. Dominic, to always be true to yourself, keep your eyes fixed on Christ, and face every challenge with courage and determination.
“The Lord who has called you will surely equip and sustain you,” the Senatorial Candidate stated.
