The newly elected President of Onitsha Sports Club, Chief Titus Adirika (Ubirikankwu) has pledged to restore the club’s glory and uphold the core values of respect, honor, and sportsmanship.
Speaking after the election and handover, the President said members have made a bold decision for better management urging all members to support the new administration to achieve its mandate of returning Onitsha Sports Club to its pride of place.
“Our club deserves a better management and members have effected it today. I am proud of the team that will work with me. I have professionals and reliable gentlemen and we believe that the club will be lifted again to regain its normal glory,” he stated.
The President emphasized that rebuilding the club will be a collective task anchored on discipline and integrity saying that the new executive will prioritize the repair and upgrade of facilities affected during the crisis, revamp sporting activities, and restore unity among members.
“Respect, Honor and Sportsmanship in Onitsha Sports Club. I am President for 2026 but I can be reelected after a year. Everybody should brace up for reconstruction and rehabilitation of things that were damaged during the crisis,” he added.
Moreso, Trustee Onitsha Sports Club and CEO Best Aluminum Group, Chief Sir. Pius Nweke (Ikemba Njikoka) who was pleased with the peaceful conduct and outcome of the election encouraged the new executive to carry everyone along as they resume office immediately.
Chief Pius Nweke (Ikemba Njikoka) confirmed that the election was transparent, free and fair saying that all parties involved should accept the outcome of the election and support the new management.
The newly elected Exco include Chief Titus Adirika – President, Chief Okwudili Muoedu – Vice President, Chief Toochukwu Chidobelu – General Secretary, Chief Martin Iloegbunam – Treasurer, Chief Solomon Maduike – Financial Sec, Ms Chidimma Muokwue – Social Secretary, Chief Nche Nwabudu – House and Ground, Chief Chuka Egbosiuba – Grill Secretary.
Contributing, the Social Secretary, Chidimma Muokwue (Nwanyi Bank) said that she and other executives will assist the President to resolve all outstanding issues in the club and make it a place to enjoy.
