No fewer than 10,000 guests are expected to attend the grand coronation of the Traditional Ruler of Adazi-Ani Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Dr. Benson Chinedu Mmadubuko, OFR, Eze Chinechendo I of Adazi.

This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Grand Coronation Planning Committee, Chief Uchenna Enemchukwu Okeke to newsmen in Adazi-Ani recently.

Speaking during the visit, Chief Okeke, popularly known as Agbalusia Ngene Adazi-Ani, revealed that notable traditional rulers from the South-East, North, and South-South regions of Nigeria, oil magnates, captains of industry, friends of Igwe Mmadubuko, sons and daughters of Adazi-Ani, government officials, and other distinguished guests are expected to grace the occasion.

He stated that preparations have been in full swing for over a week, with work ongoing on the asphalting of roads, including the Adazi-Ani–Adazi-Enu and Adazi-Ani–Alor roads, desilting of drainage channels, and other infrastructural improvements aimed at ensuring a successful event.

Agbalusia further noted that Eze Chinechendo I is a personal friend of the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, who, according to him, has commended the monarch for constructing several kilometres of roads and carrying out numerous philanthropic projects across Adazi-Ani and other parts of Anambra State.

He called on the people of the 10 villages and four clans that make up Adazi-Ani to come out en masse to welcome the thousands of guests expected to throng the community for the historic coronation.

Also speaking, an indigene of Nnewi and trader at Eke Adazi-Ani Market, Mr. Okonkwo Ugochukwu Samuel, described the new monarch as a blessing to the community.

“Eze Chinechendo is a special gift from God to Adazi. If there is any honour greater than the traditional stool of the town, the government should give it to him. He is a very good man. I know many people who have benefited from his empowerment initiatives. Although I did not benefit directly, I am happy for those who did. Igwe Mmadubuko has built roads across all the villages in this community. He is simply a good man,” he said.

Mr. Samuel urged the people of Adazi-Ani to cherish the monarch and continue to support him, expressing confidence that with their cooperation, he would accomplish even more developmental projects for the community.
