The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama has directed Divisional Police Officers to sustain heightened alertness and ensure personnel remain proactive, responsive and adequately positioned to promptly address emerging security threats within their respective Areas of Responsibility.
The CP gave the directive during unscheduled visits to Police Divisions across the State as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen operational readiness, assess personnel preparedness and ensure effective policing at the grassroots.
During the visits, the Commissioner inspected general condition of the Divisions, including facilities, arms, operational equipment and personnel readiness, just as he assessed level of security preparedness and responsiveness of officers and men within the Divisions.
The CP further ordered DPOs to prioritise the proper maintenance and facelift of their stations, stressing that police facilities must remain clean, functional, orderly and conducive to effective service delivery.
According to him, the physical condition of a police station contributes significantly to public confidence and the quality of engagement between the Police and the communities they serve.
CP Nnanna also charged officers and men to maintain the highest standards of discipline, professionalism, courtesy and respect for the fundamental rights of citizens, while remaining firm and decisive in the discharge of their lawful responsibilities.
While reaffirming the Command’s commitment to proactive, intelligence-led and community-oriented policing, the CP assured residents of the Command’s continued strengthening of its operational strategies, deepen visibility and sustain measures aimed at preventing crime and safeguarding lives and property across the State.
The Police stations visited were the Rapid Response Squad Akwuzu, Dunkofia Police Station, Oyi Police Station and the newly constructed Ogbunike Police Station.
