The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) has honoured the Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central, Ven. Tochukwu Ikezue, and former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as Ambassadors of Peace.
The honours were conferred at an international event held in Accra, Ghana, attended by dignitaries, diplomats, traditional rulers and peace advocates from different parts of the world.
The recognition of Ikezue and Abubakar was presented as an acknowledgment of their contributions to peace, good governance, humanitarian service and leadership.
Ikezue was represented at the event by the Head of Delegation and Representative of Team Rescue Mission, Hon. Cletus Amaraegbu.
He explained that the Anambra Central senatorial candidate could not attend personally due to his electoral planning and other campaign-related engagements in the state.
Amaraegbu, while conveying Ikezue’s appreciation, described the recognition as an encouragement to continue working for peace and service to humanity.
“On behalf of my principal, Ven. Tochukwu Sagacious Ikezue, Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central, I sincerely apologise for his absence today due to pressing electoral commitments.
“He holds this honour in high esteem and sees it as a divine mandate to continue to promote peace, righteousness, and selfless service to Ndi Anambra Central and Nigeria at large,” he said.
Amaraegbu appreciated leadership of the Universal Peace Federation for considering Ikezue worthy of the international recognition.
The event also featured goodwill messages and prayers for peace in Nigeria and across Africa.
The honour adds to Ikezue’s recent international engagements as he continues his campaign activities ahead of the 2027 elections in Anambra Central Senatorial District.
