Nigerian music star and songwriter, Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka aka Chike has narrated how he spent all his savings after realising death can come at any time.

In a recent interview Chike explained how the passing of fellow musician MohBad inspired him to live differently. Chike had a collaboration with Mohbad.

“When things happen in your life and you realise we are not here forever, it reminds you that this can happen to anybody and you should make the best use of your time. I went ahead and did something I’d wanted to do. I spent all my savings; I went and did things for some people, where before I was thinking it wasn’t the right time to do it. I was just like, you know what, I’m gonna do this now, right time or not—because the right time might never come.”

The Afropop singer also spoke about his current album, ‘Son of Chike,’ saying, “I feel like it’s an album where I was also… putting out my culture, even down to the way I expressed myself. I know that with this album, there is an intentional placement of where I’m from. You can tell who Chike is, this is where he is from—so I know that my culture is more represented in the music in this, my third studio album.”

Chike gained prominence by participating in the Nigerian reality competition Project Fame West Africa. Additionally, he showcased his talents on The Voice Nigeria, where he achieved the second position during Season 1. Chike ventured into acting by making his debut as Mayowa Badmus on the Africa Magic Showcase telenovela Battleground. He also appeared in the production Gang of Lagos, portraying the character Ify.
